One Day IFR GPS Course

GPS JumpStart :

This four hour course jumpstarts your GPS experience. Customized for the pilot's experience and learning objectives, this course is perfect for those pilots wanting only the operations basics, are trying to solve a particular GPS issue, or want to explore a range of GPS features. Pilots will learn GPS skills plus recognition and avoidance of gotchas and pitfalls.

Required text (as available): Qref for the GPS and/or Glass Cockpit to be used.

One Day VFR GPS Course :

This one day VFR course starts with the legalities of GPS, moves through using the GPS for direct and flight plan operations including changes, storage, and retrieval, and finishes with best practices for GPS use and in-flight decision-making. Pilots learn essential GPS skills and most importantly, learn how to recognize and avoid GPS gotchas and pitfalls. This course is perfect for those with their first GPS installation that have never used a GPS before. With this strong foundation in place, pilots are able to confidently use basic GPS features on their next flight and will have shaved many frustrating hours off learning and using their box.

One Day IFR GPS Course :

This one day IFR course starts with the legalities of IFR GPS use, reviews direct and flight plan procedures as needed for IFR operations, then focuses on approaches. Rarely taught elsewhere, this course shows pilots how to integrate use of the GPS into their instrument workload, especially when flying single-pilot IFR. Pilots will explore the advanced GPS skills needed for IFR decision-making while learning recognition and avoidance of GPS gotchas and pitfalls. Requires either One Day VFR GPS Course or ability to confidently use direct-to and flight plan operations.
